The purpose and goal of this digital portfolio is to build on the idea of creating a personal toolbox of technology-based resources and tools that will assist me and other educators with future instructional assessment practice and peer coaching.
GOAL
My name is Holly Carlson and I am a teacher in California. I currently attend Grand Canyon University where I will be obtaining my master's degree in Instructional Technology. This website tool was created to help assist and prepare educators with digital assessments and to empower other teachers with instructional technology tools.
ABOUT
In my digital portfolio, I have labeled the sections/tabs that I will be using as follows: Technology-Based Assessment, Progress Monitoring, Data Literacy, Differentiation, Higher-Order Thinking Skills, and Adaptive and Assistive Technologies. In the section that is labeled Technology-Based Assessment that is within my digital portfolio I will have three to five different types of technology-enhanced assessments that are effectively used for standards-based learning experiences, their descriptions, and the purpose of each. The technology-enhanced assessments will be labeled with the corresponding student technology standards. In addition, two support resources such as instructional videos, tutorials, and/or any other research that will support the use of technology-based assessments and will be of assistance when sharing these tools will be noted. The remaining sections will be formatted in a similar nature for easy-to-follow viewing purposes and sharing of included resources and tools. Please click on the hyperlink titles that are underlined if you would like to view the websites that I have listed and am referring to on each sectioned page
to add to your toolbox as teachers.

“Portfolios are about the process” of reaching an “internal audience,” and that the “product” of the portfolio is reaching out to an “external audience” (robstechpage, 2015). Through this portfolio I have developed the “3 levels of portfolio use,” which are “documentation and storage, workspace and reflection, and presentation and showcase” (robstechpage, 2015). Through this online resource for teachers and portfolio I will be providing opportunities for technology-based assessments and applying the ISTE-C 2.b standard under the topic of “teaching, learning and assessments,” which states to “coach teachers in and model design and implementation of technology-enhanced learning experiences using a variety of research-based, learner-centered instructional strategies and assessment tools to address the diverse needs and interests of all students” (ISTE, 2011). I will also be providing support resources and applying the ISTE-C 2.f standard under the same topic of “teaching, learning, and assessments,” which states to “coach teachers in and model incorporation of research-based best practices in instructional design when planning technology-enhanced learning experiences” (ISTE, 2011).
